Thayne A. Thompson, DMin | EFC-MAYM Lead Superintendent
From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. (John 1:16)
As Lead Superintendent, I want to take a moment and express gratitude for what I see happening in churches across EFC-MAYM these days.
On January 20th we concluded our first Regional Leadership Retreat in Chandler, OK. More than 30 of us gathered for worship, community, teaching and sharing vision. Our EFC-MAYM Leadership Team was BLESSED during that time together.
Recently, one of our churches who had committed a certain amount of money towards our EFC-MAYM partnership found their actual giving for 2023 was less than they had projected when they made the commitment. They met together and decided to keep the original commitment anyway. We are BLESSED by their belief in what we are doing and their partnership in ministry.
A couple of weeks ago our newest Hispanic church plant (Iglesia Amigos North Houston) took in 17 new members. Wow! It is likely within the next 12-18 months they will reach full church status, Lord willing. What a BLESSING.
A few days ago, one of our ethnic churches came to me with a check for their “tithe of tithes” (as they called it) for 2023. I was blown away by their faithfulness to support the ministry we do together. They believe in our partnership so much that they are committed to “tithing their tithe” back to the greater ministry of Mid-America in the face of daily challenges that confront them. I was BLESSED.
In 2023 I visited a number of our churches that are experiencing new growth and vision for the future of their ministry. We are BLESSED to hear these stories.
Thank you for allowing Tony and I, as well as our entire EFC-MAYM leadership team to serve you, as we seek to do better together what no church can do on its own.
Blessings to each of you!
