EFM is seeking donations for aid to Evangelical Friends in the Democratic Republic of Congo (EFC-Congo). Towards the end of 2023, a flood hit the town of Baraka in South Kivu province, which wiped out more than 200 homes, including 42 households who are members of EFC-Congo and 2 Evangelical Friends Church buildings.
EFM immediately sent financial support from emergency reserve funds, which aided the 42 EFC households and 58 neighbor households. This aid included corn flour, beans, rice, salt, soap, plates, pans, and more. The greater EFC-Congo community is offering further support, including clothes, personal items, and temporary shelter. We have been told that the government helped with the burial of the six who died (none from EFC) and is also helping with food aid.
Donations would allow EFM to send further support to EFC-Congo for aid and possibly some help with rebuilding support.
