Tasha Taylor Speaks at the Second Annual Ministry Conference
Coffee Hangout Breakfast for EFC-MAYM Pastor’s Wives
On Saturday, July 29th, the second annual breakfast for pastor’s wives across EFC-MAYM was held at the Drury Plaza Hotel in downtown, Wichita. After breakfast on the mezzanine the group moved to the Station Ballroom where Tasha Taylor did an excellent job giving her testimony. Tasha, wife of Graham Taylor, the pastor of Glen Elder Friends in Glen Elder, Kansas, shared her story of going from darkness to light through the power of Jesus. She brought a Bible she was given while in jail that had powerful stories of others trapped in her situation who gave their lives over to God and found hope. These stories inspired her.
During the monthly Coffee Hangout ZOOM gatherings on the second Thursday of every month from 7:00-8:10 p.m., the pastor’s wives take turns giving a Teach/Train/Show around a designated theme for the month. Tasha brought her Bible to “Show” us as a part of her testimony. Tasha shared that her Bible and Graham both helped to open her spiritual eyes to the truth of the Gospel of Christ and allowed her to become free. The group then discussed the importance of the power and love of God to help anyone trapped by substance abuse, with many sharing their own stories, and then broke into small groups for further discussion and prayer.
Psalm 40: 1-3 (The Message) describes how God is able to rescue us from the “ditch” and pull us out of “deep mud”:
I waited and waited and waited for GOD.
At last he looked; finally he listened.
He lifted me out of the ditch,
pulled me from deep mud.
He stood me up on a solid rock
to make sure I wouldn’t slip.
He taught me how to sing the latest God-song,
a praise-song to our God.
More and more people are seeing this:
they enter the mystery,
abandoning themselves to GOD.
