We are excited to invite all EFC-MAYM lead pastors’ wives to a monthly online Coffee Hangout group! This group will meet through ZOOM on the second Thursday of the month for a time of connecting, sharing, seeking God, and finding practical support. Mark your calendars for January 13th, 2022 from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
As Co-Directors of Pastoral and Church Health, Tony and Stacey Wheeler desire to provide a place for pastors’ wives to gather online, and, hopefully, strengthen current relationships and build some new ones. Stacey Wheeler will facilitate this one-hour online meeting and will prayerfully build a leadership team which will become the spiritual foundation and administrative support for this group.
Being a pastor’s wife comes with both joy and pain. When God has clearly called a pastor and his wife into ministry, and they both feel sure in their giftings, calling, and roles, it can be one of the most fulfilling jobs of all for a couple ministering together—full of joy! Being a pastor’s wife is a unique calling in many ways. She must be fully present and navigate many different meetings and conversations with people in her family and within her church and community—usually without earning any payment for her hard work, having any direct control, and often while feeling taken for granted and misunderstood—causing pain. This role is different than being an engineer’s wife, a fireman’s wife, or a businessman’s wife! Heavy expectations, spiritual warfare, and little support or understanding from the church body can complicate this role. Meeting together for a virtual coffee hangout with other pastors’ wives can provide a place to connect and find spiritual and emotional encouragement and connection.

I Corinthians 16:14 is a scriptural anchor for this group. When women and pastor’s wives create an atmosphere of love in their homes, churches, and communities, they are a powerful force.
The general itinerary for the group will include sharing, prayer, scripture reading, and, for the last half of the hour, a teach/train/show section to share best practices and ideas surrounding family and church life. A Facebook Group will be developed to coincide with this Coffee Hangout time. Join us on Thursday evening, January 13th for the following theme:

For this first meeting, Adele Brown from (Raymore, MO) Friends Church, an upcoming church plant, will be sharing how she sought God and tenaciously worked to build lasting relationships, enabling her to start and succeed in her online business and ministry Home Chronicles on Instagram.
Ephesians 3:14-19 adequately describes our hope for this group:
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every familyin heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
