Our Deepest Sympathy to Homer Smuck. Lois Smuck went to be with Jesus this past week. The following comes from an email recently sent out by Susan Rose who provides leadership for the EFC-MAYM Members Benefits Association:
“Lois was born January 30, 1952 in Portland, Oregon. She also lived in Greenleaf, Idaho. She met Homer Smuck in 1970 at Friends Bible College. They married in 1972 and had 3 children. They started pastoring in 1974, and went on to pastor 3 churches in NWYM, and 3 churches in Mid-America; Mt. Ayr Friends twice, Miami Friends, and Chandler Friends for a total of 28 years in Mid-America alone. Lois was recorded as a Minister of the Gospel in 2009. They retired in 2017 to Wichita, Kansas. Homer and Lois were married for 53 years.
Lois enjoyed being an encourager (This we remember well!), loved reading, cooking for large groups (Quaker Hill-Idaho, Quaker Haven-Kansas), and spending precious time with her kids and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services are October 4, 2025 at 11am at Mt. Ayr Friends Church in Alton Kansas with a graveside to follow at Mt Ayr Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to: Homer Smuck, 114 Hillside, El Dorado, Kansas 67042. Please keep Homer, son-Jeremy, and daughters-Jannea and Jacque in your prayers.”
Lois will be greatly missed. Thank you for your loving concern for Homer and the family during this time.
