Our Deepest Sympathy to the Burnett family. It is with great sadness I write to tell you that Galan Delmer Burnett, 72, passed on to glory to be with Jesus last Saturday, November 29, 2025. He had been fighting colon cancer and was put in hospice at his home in Lamar, Colorado. A Celebration of Life is Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10am at Peacock Family Chapel in Lamar, Co., followed by interment at Eads Cemetery in Eads, Co.
Galan was born to Judd and Clara Burnett on February 21, 1953 in Dodge City, Kansas. His life was shaped by his love of Jesus at an early age. Through the years he attended RMYM annual sessions and Quaker Ridge Camp. After high school graduation, Galan went on to attend Friends Bible College where he met Mary Bea Moyer. Following graduation, they were married on May 24, 1975. Shortly thereafter they entered full time ministry at Hopewell Friends in Kansas for 2 years. They had 3 children during the early years. Then ministered in RMYM-Grand Junction, Co. 2 yrs, Springbank Friends-Nebraska-5 yrs, Faith Friends in Lamar 1982 to 2025, Chivington Friends, Co. 1999 to 2018, and mid-week pastor at Baptist Church, Holly, Co. 2018 to 2025. 50 years in ministry!
Mary Bea passed in Feb. 2012 after many years ministering with Galan. Galan loved teaching, preaching and most of all spending time with people of all ages. He was a true light for his Lord who he adored to the fullest. He was a friend to all he met. Please pray for the family as they grieve. Condolences may be sent to Miriam Burnett, 1455 N. High St. #305, Denver, Co. 80218.
Love in Christ,
Susan Rose
