We have a most interesting and challenging evening planned for June 4. Larry Kinser and David Robinson will be our teachers.
Larry will share on the topic, “Personal Evangelism: Natural and Contagious Influence.” He will be referencing Bill Hybel’s books, Contagious Christianity and Just Walk Across the Room. Larry will define the formula HP+CP+CC=M. (No, this is not a math class, but a lesson in evangelism and missions.)
Larry is Administrative Pastor at Northridge Friends Church. A Friend all of his life, Larry grew up in Hugoton, Kansas. He is a graduate of Barclay College. He has served as Pastor of the Fresno Friends Church and Director of Health and Growth in Evangelical Friends Church-Southwest. Larry is married to Mileta Ross, and they have a lovely grown child, Lacy Chastain.
David Robinson will speak on the theme, “It Is Not Just about Us!” He will reference some articles about motivating a missional mindset in the congregation. David will look at what constitutes a good healthy balance and will look at some of the barriers to reaching past the tendency to focus on ourselves.
As Superintendent of Evangelical Friends Church-Mid America (EFC-MA) for the past decade, David has been serving us with missional vision, shared leadership, and clear spiritual discernment. David received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology, where he later became President. David has given pastoral leadership in EFC-MA and North Carolina Yearly Meeting. He is married to Jan, and they are the parents of a beautiful grown daughter and son, Lisa and Geoff.
So that all Friends in EFC-MA may participate in the Institute we offer several locations where you may join your local Friends and interact with other Friends in our six-state area: Words of Life Church (Ft. Worth), Sudanese Community Church (Omaha), Iglesia Amigos (San Antonio), Glen Elder Friends Church, Booker Friends Church, Chandler Friends Church, Friends Community Church (Angleton), Hesper Friends Church, Miami Friends Church, Friends Church of Liberal, Friends Ministry Center (Wichita), and Barclay College (Jackson Hall).
I encourage your presence and urge you to invite others, who are interested in evangelism, outreach, church planting, and missions. The class begins at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 4. If you arrive at 6:30 you can enjoy refreshments.
