Director of Communications and Church Planting Support
Stacey is currently the Director of Communications and Church Planting Support and especially enjoys overseeing worship, the Yearly Meeting newsletter, and Coffee Hangout, an online Bible study group she started for EFC-MAYM pastors’ wives. When Stacey was in 6th grade, she was walking down the dirt road near her house when she was surprised to hear the Holy Spirit tell her she would become a pastor’s wife. She grew up in South Wichita and attended Derby Friends Church from birth to age 18. Recruited by Gary Wright, she attended Friends Bible College for two years through a piano scholarship under Bob and Marilyn Ham from 1986-1988 where she met Tony, and then earned a Bachelor’s in English from Friends University and a Master’s in English from Fort Hays State University. Stacey ministered for 21 years alongside Tony as a pastor’s wife from 1987-2008 in Kansas and Arizona. From 2009-2016, she was a full-time professor at Barclay College teaching in the areas of English, Education, and Worship Arts. As well as enjoying teaching, Stacey enjoys studying scripture, leading worship, writing, and reading. She enjoys traveling and ministering with her husband Tony.
Tony and Stacey co-founded the non-profit ministry Family Ministry Institute, doing business as Wheeler Ministries, to provide help and healing to individuals and couples in their personal lives, marriages, and families through counseling, consulting, and seminars. They primarily work with leaders, pastors, church and ministry teams, educational institutions, organizations, and individuals to help them achieve their desired goals. Some of the past organizations Wheeler Ministries has worked with include Moody Bible Institute, Moody Seminary, Phoenix Seminary, Pepperdine, World Renewal, David Jeremiah’s Shadow Mountain Church, Friends University, Focus on the Family, ACTS, AACC, Seattle Seahawks, and Joni Eareckson Tada’s ministry Joni and Friends. Wheeler Ministries especially desires to bring hope and encouragement to leaders in ministry and help equip pastors and missionaries so they can find effectiveness and sustainability in worship, prayer, evangelization, and church planting efforts. Stacey and Tony live in the Kansas City area and have been married since 1987 with three adult children and five grandchildren. All three of their children are in ministry. Stacey enjoys being with her family, decorating, hiking, taking drives with Tony, and drinking coffee.
