Come and See (CAS Ministries) | Texas City, TX
Come and See is a mission based, evangelical Friends church led by Pastor Walter Lawson located in the inner city of Texas City, Texas. We provide an opportunity for everyone to unite in local mission projects and evangelism. We pray, we invite, we disciple, and we offer hospitality, all in the power of the Holy Spirit, telling the Good News of Jesus Christ by sharing our own testimonies and the Word of God. Our team of pastors, ministry leaders, and youth serve in our community to help individuals gain stability in their lives, first by meeting their physical needs, and then, spiritual and emotional needs through an ongoing relationship that honors God. Just like Jesus invited his disciples to Come and See, we should invite those who are already in our community to Come and See, and to Go and Tell of the love and salvation of Jesus every day.
Adonai Evangelical Friends Church| Ft. Worth, TX
Early in 2020, Living Friends Church Pastor Dal Bey Tamang introduced to Home Missions leaders, a new pastor friend who works with him at the Walmart Distribution Center in Ft. Worth, TX. This pastor, Elisee Mutshipayi, a native Congolese leader from Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in West Central Africa, had been leading his new congregation, a non-denominational fellowship in Hurst, TX, since 2015. Pastor Elisee and his wife, Mariam Biduaya, and their three sons reside in northwest Ft. Worth, TX. Pastor Elisee speaks French, English, and several other African dialects and his congregation, Adonai Evangelical Church, worships in the French language, now located at 500 Harwood Avenue in eastern Ft. Worth. TX. Over the next few months these two Pastors and their congregations traded pulpits for messages and fellowship meals and became close friends. After a time, Pastor Dal had asked Pastor Elisee if he might be interested in affiliating with EFC-MAYM by joining our movement. Pastor Elisee explained our process to his leaders at Adonai Church, and they notified HMB that they were interested in working our process. Today Adonai Evangelical Friends Church is a growing thriving congregation where it serves, ministers, and worships in the DFW metro area.
Emmanuel Evangelical Friends Church| Fargo, ND
Emmanuel Church was established in around 2010 in the refuge camp in Nepal. After the terrible natural disaster of a major earthquate devasted their country, and also due to religious persecution in their countries, in 2015, a number of these Nepali and Bhutani church leaders immigrated to the state of North Dakota in the United States. Some of these leaders established a new Emmanuel Church in the city of Fargo ND. Pastor Kaleb Tamang of the newly organized Friends Church in St. Paul, MN was acquainted with several of these leaders from his time spent in the refugee camps in Nepal as well. Expanding his outreach and ministry work in Minnesota, Pastor Kaleb reconnected with these leaders in North Dakota, and began to talk about the Fargo congregation affiliating with Evangelical Friends Church Mid America. Over the next couple of years, the conversation continued until an agreement was completed to organize as a new Friends Church. The Fargo congregation led by Elders Khem and Deka Ghalley, and the wife of the congregation in the refugee camp, Pastor Samjana Tamang, and several other leaders met with leaders of our Home Missions Team in November 2021 to begin working our affiliation process. Pastor Steven Tamang remains as yet, in the refugee camp awaiting completion of his immigration papers to come join his family in Fargo. The congregation, now legally as known as Emmanuel Friends Church, gathers weekly with around a hundred believers to minister effectively in the city with youth and music outreach, as well as other ministries across their city and state.
