The countdown is on for the annual Tent Revival at Fowler Friends Church, with just days remaining before the weekend of worship, fellowship, and community begins.
The revival kicks off Thursday evening and continues through Sunday morning. Dinner will be served Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., followed by worship and the revival service beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
Sunday’s schedule will feature a unique service beginning at 10:00 a.m., centered on reflection, silence, and shouts of praise. Following worship, attendees are invited to help with tent tear-down and cleanup before enjoying a grab-and-go lunch.
While previous Tent Revivals were held in October and often brought chilly evenings, this year’s event is expected to bring warmer temperatures. Plenty of cold drinks will be available throughout the weekend to help guests stay cool and hydrated.
This year’s featured revival speaker is Barry Ward. He will be joined by several Friends pastors from across the Western Area who will share God’s Word throughout the weekend:
- Thursday: James Tower, pastor of Lone Star Friends Church
- Friday: Graham Tayler, pastor of Glen Elder Friends Church
- Saturday: JJ Manning, pastor of Gate Friends Church
- Sunday: A special service of silence, reflection, and shouts of praise, joined by guests from the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA)
In addition to worship, each evening will include a shared meal:
- Thursday: Smash burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and more
- Friday: Pulled pork, coleslaw, and more
- Saturday: Chicken tacos, quesadillas, rice, beans, and more
- Sunday: Grab-and-go breakfast burritos or breakfast sandwiches following worship and tent tear-down, with leftovers available as needed
Everyone is invited to attend and experience a weekend of worship, encouragement, and fellowship. Western Area churches are especially encouraged to bring a group to one of the revival services. Groups planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Pastor Dennis to assist with meal planning.
The Tent Revival offers an opportunity for churches and communities to gather together in worship while anticipating all that God has in store throughout the weekend.
