From the Desk of Dan Cammack

Our Lord Jesus has been using EFM to plant groups of Friends churches in different parts of the world during the last 35 years. These churches are often located in places of poverty where they struggle to become self-sustaining in an economic sense, which makes it difficult to plant other churches that become self-sustaining. The BEST program was created to respond to this challenge.

For the past three years BEST has been working with key leaders in Rwanda and West Bengal, India to equip and empower them to operate micro-businesses. These businesses will not only help the leaders to make a living, but they will also open doors for the growth and expansion of the church. BEST is gearing up for training in other EFM fields as well, but they need more presenters to reach those fields. That’s what this message and flyer are all about. I encourage you to prayerfully ponder whether God is leading you to accept this invitation and explore the possibility of joining our team of presenters. This is one way that the Lord Jesus can use people with business skills to help build up his body in other parts of the world.

– Dan Cammack, Executive Director of EFM

Training of Presenters

The Bi-Vocational Evangelist Support Training (BEST) program equips church leaders and planters in third-worldmission fields with business skills and concepts that enable church leaders/planters to operate micro-businesses. These businesses not only provide financial security for families when funding is insufficient, they also create platforms for ministry. Local churches will build stronger community connections, enhance church growth, and bring people to Christ when micro-businesses flourish. But this program isn’t just about teaching business. BEST incorporates sound business skills built on biblical principles. The program’s goals are knowledge transfer, empowerment, and the development of mission field personnel who will train others. BEST will stimulate multiplication, which is a vital biblical concept.

The Training of Presenters (TOP) seminar is a 2 ½ day information and orientation conference for people interested in learning more about BEST. We will present a condensed version of the material used in the field, background on the program’s development, a vision for BEST’s future, areas for personal involvement, and travel opportunities to train church leaders/planters on the mission field.

When and Where: Thursday through Saturday, November 12-14, in Denver, Colorado.

Registration deadline: September 30, 2015

We can only accept the first 15 people who register for training. You are responsible for your transportation, lodging, and food. A registration fee of $175 is due in advance, which includes facility usage, materials, and a Friday evening meal.
