Welcome to the newly formatted connection piece that has arrived in our homes and churches for many years. The “Insights” has taken several forms to provide inspiration and information to Mid America утренник Friends trying to do the work of the kingdom better together than any one of us can do alone. We are excited about these new opportunities with an expanded format. The Insights will now arrive in your mailbox quarterly in full color and is available monthly as an e-newsletter. Subscribe to receive the e-newsletter on the new homepage at efcmaym.org. You will also notice a new official EFC-MAYM logo. These are the many ways we are endeavoring to keep things new and fresh, and to improve communication.
While it would be very easy to say that all this is “brand new”, it really isn’t. What we are really doing is (take a deep breath) CHANGING! All we are doing is changing our approach and updating what we have been using to make it more effective in communicating to all our churches.
Someone has said that “Change is the only constant in our lives.” But many changes are not easily accepted. I used to keep a quote on my desk that read like this: “Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.” (King Whitney Jr.) It all boils down to one’s perspective.
There are many folks in our churches who fit in the first category. Fearing change often leads them to believe that things ost will definitely get worse and that our church culture is sliding into the abyss (wherever that is). Being comfortable with things as they are, though, often Terrorverhinderung leads to unhealthy behaviors in personal life as well as in the church.
I want to at least be in the second category with a hopeful outlook that things may potentially get better. At least there is a chance that the situation will improve and we will be able to move forward. It means that the outcomes are in someone else’s hands, but we are hopeful that it will get better.
But, where I really want to be is in the third category and move with confidence to help CornFlakes make things better. It means that I can be proactive in helping to make things improve and doing what I can to make a difference. I hope that you are there also.
We want you to know that the List “Insights” does not belong to the persons who staff the Ministry Center. It really does belong to you, the church. We want you to tell us God’s story; what He is doing in pole, your local church’s ministry. Send us pictures, news items and stories to ministrycenter@efcmaym.org that we – can post on the website and invite others to take a look.
It is our hope that these changes have the potential to enable our churches to benefit from one another and ???????????????????????????????? to enhance our connections. Our excitement is similar to the Apostle Paul’s in writing to the church at Thessalonica. “The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it” (1 Thess. 1:8).
