Royce Frazier to Retire as President of Barclay College at End of Academic Year

By

Keith Custer | Chairman, Board of Trustees, Barclay College

Dr. Royce Frazier, President of Barclay College since 2010, announces his retirement effective at the close of the current school year, June 30, 2025.

“All accomplishments during my presidency resulted from being privileged to be associated with the greatest board members, administrators, faculty, staff, and support teams in the history of the college.” — Dr. Royce Frazier

He and his wife Carolyn have been married for over 50 years and quickly realized Haviland held a special place for them. The legacy of his father, Herb Frazier, a strong Barclay College President, has been continued through Royce. Through his leadership and passion for the college, we have navigated the good times and tough times, always giving God the glory and seeking His wisdom during those times.

Dr. Frazier received a B.S. from Barclay College in Religion, B.S. In Education from Emporia State University, M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical from Friends University, M.A. in Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, California.

The first five years of his professional career were spent as a teacher, coach, and athletic director. He was the Superintendent of Youth Ministries for Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends and Executive Director of Camp Quaker Haven for seventeen years. In this capacity, he created and oversaw various youth activities.

In 1996, Dr. Frazier started a private clinical practice, Family Resource Center, in Haviland. In 2008, he became the V.P. of Academics at Barclay College, and in 2010, he became the President of Barclay College. Along with attending to the duties of president, he taught numerous undergraduate and graduate classes.

Dr. Frazier will continue to make himself available to the college in whatever capacity the new administration sees fit.

It is with appreciation of Dr. Frazier’s service to the college over these many years that the Board of Trustees wishes him a well-deserved retirement and appreciates his continued support of the College.
