Summers at Camp Quaker Haven

By

Abigail Macy | Kids Camp Co-Director

Kids Camp 2025 was all about learning the fruit of the Spirit and what it means to abide in Christ! KC Lingafelter brought wonderful messages and presentations to really show the campers we cannot produce good fruit on our own, but only through an abiding relationship with Jesus. Campers learned that by accepting and believing Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit will begin to produce the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. We had a few different EFC-MAYM Pastors come and share their story each morning with the campers and gave them even more understanding on what it means to have a close relationship with God. The campers gave a total of $531.60 for our offering, which will go towards the exciting new projects happening at Camp Quaker Haven. It was such a joy and blessing watching all the kiddos play silly games, bond as cabins, say the camp theme verse (John 15:5), and worship our awesome God together.

Luke Ballard | High School and Junior High Camp Co-Director

Camp Quaker Haven 2025 On Mission (High School and Junior High Camp) was one for the books. With almost every bed on the campground filled, we knew the harvest was plentiful. As kids started showing up to high school camp, it got real fast! Registration was in full swing as kids from over 20 churches were arriving. I started to think to myself, “How in the world are we going to handle this many people at once?” I was overwhelmed with a sense of comfort and peace, peace that the Lord would be with us! From this moment forward, I had a blast! Throughout all the activities, chapel sessions, silence and solitude times, and free time, I saw God at work! Kids discovering who they are in Christ. Kids encouraging and getting along with others. Kids navigating hard things with their friends by their side. Kids asking questions. I believe all of these things couldn’t be possible if God was not in that place. I had fun at camp this year. Co-directing both high school and junior high camps were challenging physically, but spiritually super filling. It was super exciting to think about the transition into my new job at Friendswood Friends Church!
