Stacey D. Wheeler | EFC-MAYM Director of Communications and Church Planting Support
“The Church Works” is our theme for the upcoming 2025 Ministry Conference. It will be held July 11-13 on the campus of Friends University. We will be staying in the Green Residence Hall on the Friends University campus, and thanks to our collaboration and partnership with Barclay College and fuds from an individual donor, a free special event designed for pastors and their wives and families will be offered July 10-11 with a Pastoral Family Event at 7:00 p.m. at the Wichita Windsurge Baseball Game on Thursday night. On Friday morning, Dr. Donald Sunukjian, author and Professor of Preaching Emeritus at Talbot School of Theology will lead us in a half-day workshop on effective communication in preaching. Dr. Sunukjian was Lead Superintendant Thayne Thompson’s professor during his doctoral work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. According to Kent Walkemeyer, EFC-SW, Dr. Sunukjian is “an excellent preacher and teacher of preachers. This event will be a blessing to your participants.” Sunukjian will also be speaking on Friday night, the Opening Session for Ministry Conference. Thayne Thompson, Tony Wheeler, and Jesse Penna will also be speaking. Stacey Wheeler, Randy and Carrie Beyer, Grant and Rachel Brintnall, Silas Tamang, and others will be leading us in worship. Children’s Ministry Conference will be provided for ages 0-5th grade during general sessions and the pastor’s resourcing time on July 11th, so bring your family! Kaleo Lite will be offered for students with teaching, mentorship, service learning and training. The business session will be held in the newly expanded and remodeled Riney Fine Arts Center. You will not want to miss this year’s Ministry Conference!
