Celebrating Bold Faith and New Paths in Mid-America
Each year, our annual Ministry Conference provides a unique opportunity to gather as one body, united in faith and vision. In just a few days we will meet together on the campus of Friends University and celebrate how the church is working across Mid-America. “The Church Works,” captures both the engine of our faith—service and discipleship—and the living, breathing communities that make up the body of Christ across Mid-America.
Introducing “The Church Works”
As our world continues to change and present new challenges, churches everywhere are faced with the call to adapt, innovate, and step courageously into the future. With “The Church Works,” we aim not only to celebrate the perseverance and creativity of our local churches, but also to inspire one another by sharing stories of transformation. In this spirit, we are reminded of the powerful words from Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” This verse calls us to trust that when we step out in faith, God can do far beyond what we might dream possible.
Friends Churches: Stepping Out in Faith
A central highlight of this year’s conference will be the opportunity to hear from Friends churches throughout Mid-America. These congregations, large and small, urban and rural, have each answered the call to follow Jesus by experimenting with new ministries, creative outreach, and bold steps of obedience. With hearts anchored in the hope of Ephesians 3:20, they have discovered that God’s power works through every faithful risk and every new venture.
- Some have launched fresh expressions of ministry that reach neighbors who have never darkened a church door.
- Others have formed partnerships in their communities, responding to local needs and embodying Christ’s love in tangible ways.
- Still others are reimagining discipleship, mentoring, and mission, seeking to grow mature followers of Christ through innovative programs and relational ministry.
Making Disciples: Our Common Mission
At the heart of every story lies a shared purpose—to make disciples. As Jesus commanded, we are to go into all the world, not only sharing the Gospel but forming authentic communities of faith where people are invited to transform and be transformed. This year, we look forward to learning from those among us who have dared to ask, “What new thing is God calling us to?” and have responded with courage and hope, relying on the assurance that God is able to do immeasurably more than we can imagine.
What to Expect
Over the course of three days, attendees will experience a rich tapestry of worship, teaching, storytelling, and connection. Expect:
- Inspiring keynote sessions that challenge and encourage the Church to work in new ways for the Kingdom, grounded in the promise that God’s power is at work within us.
- Stories from churches among us who have stepped out in faith in new ways.
- Times of corporate worship where we seek God together.
- Opportunities for prayer, networking, and mutual encouragement.

Come prepared to be inspired, to share your own journey, and to leave with new friends, new ideas, and renewed hope in the work of the Church.
