It was so exciting to see almost ninety people from five areas and fifteen local churches, including several Barclay students, join in on the first session of Introduction to the Journey: A Disciple Making Pathway on January 24th…and plans are in the works for Session Two!
The first time Session Two is held, it will be in Wichita on Friday evening, April 24th through Saturday afternoon, April 25th. This will be specifically for those who have participated in Session One, who have taken intentional steps out onto the disciple making trail to seize the mission of Jesus and learn their culture and context, AND who desire to take their experiences back to their local church and community. In this session, participants can expect to experience being “in the world, but not of the world” that may stretch some. They will be immersed in the three circles of kingdom life with a small group of fellow travelers, including Tribe of Friends coaches to guide along the way. This first cohort is limited to 16 participants, and the application deadline is April 1, 2015. The registration fee for Session Two is simply your commitment to apply and pass on your learning and experiences in your local context. Participants will be provided additional materials, supper and housing in a host home (if needed) on Friday night, and breakfast on Saturday. Lunch on Saturday and any travel meals and expenses are not included. The application can be completed online or downloaded and mailed to the EFC-MAYM Ministry Center. Visit www.tribeoffriends.org for more details.
In addition, some have asked about bringing Session One to their local church. This is possible with the Webex recording from January 24th and/or by inviting a trainer/facilitator to come to your site and/or by raising up your own local facilitator (as described in the Host Site Application). To receive a copy of the video and materials, the Site Host Application can be downloaded from www.tribeoffriends.org and mailed to the EFC-MAYM Ministry Center.
We are also planning to repeat these sessions, live, during the EFC-MAYM Ministry Conference this July.
