Robyn Burns-Marko and her father, Al White, will bless us on June 6, 2016 when they share with us on the topic of Intergenerational Christian Education. Robyn Burns Marko is Pastor of Northshore, Texas Friends Church. Robyn is loved among Friends as a church leader with spiritual sensitivity and a clear vision for Christ’s Kingdom. Her gift in music is seen and heard in the beautiful music of her bell choirs. She holds the Master of Arts degree from the Houston Graduate School of Theology and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Azusa Pacific University.
Al White has served as a pastor, written Christian education material for Aldersgate, managed the Friends Bookstore in Damascus, Ohio, and owned a Christian bookstore. He holds the Master of Arts degree from Wheaton College, the Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Seminary, and the Doctor of Humane Letters from the Houston Graduate School of Theology.
We desire that Friends throughout our Yearly Meetings have opportunity to learn from our Institute teachers, so we offer these classes at various locations: Fowler Friends Church, Bangor Liberty Friends Church, Friends Ministry Center (Wichita), Friends Community Church (Angleton), Lighthouse Community Fellowship (at the home of Jerry and Mary Louthan), Friends Bible Training School (Alaska Yearly Meeting) at the home of David Miller, Noatak, Alaska (Robert Sheldon, Superintendent), Barclay College (Jackson Hall), Faith Friends Church, Neighborhood Friends Church (at the home of Tom and Bonnie Bousman), Arkansas City Friends Church (at the home of Bud Lawrence), North Newton at the home of Merl Kinser, and Sudanese Community Church (Omaha). If Monday evenings are not a good time for you or your church to participate in the Institute, you may watch the videos each month when your schedule allow. All class sessions are video recorded and uploaded to YouTube, thanks to Drew Davenport. Watch the video here.
This class is a marvelous opportunity to learn from two generations (father and daughter) about intergenerational Christian education. I encourage you to invite your church families and your Christian education workers to join us at 7:00 p.m.central time, on Monday, June 6, 2016 for a rich family, educational, and spiritual experience. After all, Jesus, in His Great Commission, instructs us to “. . . Go and make disciples of all nations . . . teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). I invite you, also, to log in at 6:50 for a time of fellowship, sharing, and becoming better acquainted with one another.
Looking forward to growing with you,
– Dave Kingrey, Director of Leadership Institute
