We are very privileged that Royce Frazier has graciously offered to teach our Institute class on the evening of October 3. Royce will bring to us valuable principles of leadership that are vital, not only for a strong college, but also for healthy churches. Transformational Leadership is the core of Royce’s leadership at Barclay College, and he will share with us the importance of implementing this method for vitality in our Friends Churches today.
Royce Frazier is President of Barclay College and has brought the college to new heights of Christian spiritual and academic life, including Barclay’s recognized status of regional candidacy for accreditation in the Higher Learning Commission. He teaches courses in Transformational Leadership in Barclay’s Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership studies. Prior to his presidency, he was Director of Online Education and Vice President for Academic Services at Barclay College. Royce is an active member of Haviland Friends Church, where he provides worship leadership and plays the trumpet in the church orchestra. Earlier he invested more than thirty years in teaching, coaching, youth ministry, marriage and family therapy, and leadership in Mid-America Yearly Meeting. Royce received two B.S. degrees, from Barclay College and Emporia State University. He was granted the M.S. degree from Friends University and was awarded the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Fielding Graduate University. Royce is married to Carolyn, and they are proud parents and grandparents. If you want to know how proud Royce is as a grandfather, ask him any question about his grandchildren, and then give him an hour to answer. Royce has a deep desire for strong leadership in our Friends Churches and has committed his life to prepare men and women for church leadership that will be transforming. He comes to us in the Institute with this desire.
Royce’s teaching is very important for Friends in all places and branches, so Drew Davenport will upload a video recording of this class to YouTube, as he does all class session. Simply click here, and then click on the video you want to view.
We have many locations where you can join the Institute class live with video conferencing: Friends Church at Liberal, Friends Ministry Center (Wichita), Sudanese Community Church (Omaha), Fowler Friends Church, Friends Community Church (Angleton), Faith Friends Church, Bangor Liberty Friends Church, Lighthouse Fellowship Church (at the home of Jerry and Mary Louthan), Friends Bible Training School (at the home of David Miller), Noatak, Alaska (Robert Sheldon, Superintendent), New Hope Friends Church, Barclay College (Jackson Hall), North Newton (at the home of Merl and Eunice Kinser), Neighborhood Friends Church (at the home of Tom and Bonnie Bousman), and Arkansas City Friends Church (at the home of Bud and Pauline Lawrence).

I urge you to join us and to bring as many as you can assemble to hear Royce on Monday, at 7:00 p.m. central time on October 3, 2016. Hopefully, you will log in at 6:50 when we will have a time of getting better acquainted. Each month one of our Institute Friends shares a story or testimony about herself/himself.
