During the opening session of our 2021 EFC-MAYM Ministry Conference on Friday evening, July 23, we had the privilege of honoring our dear friends and colleagues, David and Carol Kingrey, for their 16+ years of faithful service as directors of the Church Leadership Institute for Ministry (CLIM). If you would like to view a recording of our time together with Dave and Carol at Ministry Conference, just follow this link: https://efcmaym.org/live-stream/
As this chapter in the history of the Institute comes to a close, it seems like the right time to hit the pause button in order to step back and take stock of where we have been on this journey, and where the Lord may be calling us to go in the days ahead. With this in mind, the Institute will be taking a break during the month of August. At this point, we are planning to resume our monthly gatherings in early September. When we do restart, it is likely that things may be “re-tooled” a bit in order to ensure that we are adequately addressing the most pressing needs of a new generation of church leaders. We want to make sure that we are still “scratching where they itch,” so to speak. We also want to make sure we are employing the most helpful tools and technology in the process.
In an effort to ensure that the Church Leadership Institute for Ministry (CLIM) continues to serve as a valuable resource for both current and prospective Friends leaders, you are invited to complete a brief (5 minute) survey by clicking on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TFYJSJQ
For some of you, this may be an ideal time to revisit some of the topics we have covered over the years or to catch up on a session you may have missed. You will find copies of past Institute recordings here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzYEkoGfmuLVuFvTuuneAqw
With Dave and Carol Kingrey, I want to thank each of you again for your faithful support of and participation in the Church Leadership Institute for Ministry. The next season in the life of the Institute may look a bit different, but I am confident that the best is yet to come!
– David O. Williams, Lead Superintendent
